Meet the quirky Pied Oystercatcher – a striking decorative bird featuring vibrant red legs and a distinctive long beak. Its body is crafted from sustainably sourced plantation timber, with the beak turned from wood on a lathe for added character. The 6mm steel legs are painted bright red and securely mounted on a stand, making it perfect for displaying on a shelf, desk, or side table. Hand-painted in artist-grade acrylics and finished with a smooth coat of natural beeswax, each piece has a unique charm. These are a bit trickier to make than my usual shelf-sitter birds, which is reflected in the price – but the bold colour combination makes it well worth it.
